Marlene Bogard retired as executive director of Mennonite Women USA in 2017. She received an MA in Christian Ministry from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, and has studied at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary-Great Plains in North Newton, Kansas, and is an ordained minister. Marlene is a certified trainer in the Prevention of Clergy Misconduct from the FaithTrust Institute and has conducted dozens of "Safe Sanctuary: prevention of child abuse in the congregation" presentations in Mennonite churches.
Marlene specializes in the following training opportunities for church leaders, parents, teachers, and mentors:
- Safe Sanctuaries: prevention of sexual abuse in the congregation. This training provides general awareness of the risks that we all carry as we minister to children, youth, and vulnerable adults and provides an overview of prevention policies and practices.
- Prevention of Clergy Misconduct training with pastors.
