Katherine B. Wiens

Katherine Burkey Wiens M.Ed., LPC, lives in Newton, Kansas. As an early childhood educator for 28 years, Katherine taught both children and adults. Her workshop topics include child protection, childhood trauma, Circle of Grace curriculum, and ways to value and nurture children in the church. She has a graduate degree in clinical counseling from Emporia State University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is also the witness support coordinatorfor GRACE, Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment. In 2013 her childhood memoir—Bars, Dumps, and Other Childhood Hangouts—was published; her new book, Please Don’t Send Me Back, will be published soon. More information can be found on her website. Katherine’s family includes her husband, Tim; two young adult daughters, Terra and Ruth; and son-in-law, Matt Lehman.
